mountain life

thursday night we headed up to coarsegold, just south of yosemite, to spend the weekend with the in-laws and check out their new place. the drive was familiar and easy and had us at our destination in about 5 hours [but at 2am]. friday morning we had a look around at the house and surrounding area. there is one word to descibe it.

heaven.

since i was a child, my grandparents have had either a cabin or a house in the sierras. i spent summers and winters banging around in the mountains, developing a deep love for this part of the country. the in-laws place is that exact same setting for tc. lots of room to run around and be a boy. rocks to explore, trees to climb, lakes to fish in and one of the nations greatest parks at our front door, the setting couldn’t be much better. i’m excited about this new beginning for the family and for all the wonderful opportunities that this place holds.

oh, and the fact that there are a lifetime of trails for dad to run on…well, that’s just an added bonus.

Way to bury the lede, there jiif.

    But I’m not fooled.

  2. I’d love a little piece of heaven right now. Isn’t that the place where junior high kids aren’t allowed to visit? Just kidding. It sounds wonderful.
